{"id":1884,"date":"2026-05-18T16:48:04","date_gmt":"2026-05-18T16:48:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tandemglobalhr.com\/?p=1884"},"modified":"2026-05-18T16:49:05","modified_gmt":"2026-05-18T16:49:05","slug":"the-pay-transparency-that-is-coming","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tandemglobalhr.com\/en\/la-transparencia-retributiva-que-nos-viene\/","title":{"rendered":"The Remuneration Transparency that is coming"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"ember407\">Last May 12th I was able to attend a very interesting conference on Transportation Transfer organized by <strong>ORH<\/strong>, \ud835\udde3\ud835\uddf2\ud835\uddfc\ud835\uddfd\ud835\uddf9\ud835\uddf2\ud835\uddfa\ud835\uddee\ud835\ude01\ud835\ude01\ud835\uddf2\ud835\uddff\ud835\ude00, \ud835\udddf\ud835\uddee\ud835\uddef\ud835\uddfc\ud835\uddff\ud835\uddfa\ud835\uddee\ud835\ude01\ud835\ude01\ud835\uddf2\ud835\uddff\ud835\ude00 \ud835\ude06 \ud835\udde0\ud835\ude02\ud835\ude01\ud835\ude02\ud835\uddee\ud835\uddf9\ud835\uddf6\ud835\uddf1\ud835\uddee\ud835\uddf1 (the event was at their headquarters). The day was of particular interest to me and our HR project of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/company\/tandem-global-hr-consulting\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Tandem Global HR Consulting<\/a>, like all the new developments that directly affect us in the business world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"ember408\">I came away from it with a pretty clear feeling:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"ember409\">The upcoming European directive isn&#039;t just about salaries. It&#039;s about trust, organizational coherence, and maturity in people management\u2014something that shouldn&#039;t surprise us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"ember410\">During the day, there was much discussion about regulations, salary audits, pay registers, collective bargaining, and the necessary communication with candidates and employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"ember411\">But, ultimately, almost all the interventions ended up landing on the same idea from different points of view:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"ember412\">Organizations will need to be able to explain the \u201cwhy\u201d of their compensation decisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"ember413\">Because the biggest challenge probably won&#039;t be teaching numbers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"ember414\">It will be possible to justify them with objective, understandable and sustainable criteria over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"ember415\">And that&#039;s where many companies will discover that salary transparency doesn&#039;t start in an Excel spreadsheet, but much earlier:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"ember416\">\u27a1\ufe0f in how positions are defined,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"ember417\">\u27a1\ufe0f in how performance is evaluated,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"ember418\">\u27a1\ufe0f in how it is promoted,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"ember419\">\u27a1\ufe0f in how it communicates internally,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"ember420\">\u27a1\ufe0f and whether there really is a perception of fairness within the organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"ember421\">I also found it interesting to see that some companies have been ahead in this area for years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"ember422\">Organizations that have been working with salary structures, bands, compensation policies, or feedback culture for a long time will probably face this new scenario more naturally and with a significant advantage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"ember423\">For others, the challenge will be deeper and not only legal, but also cultural and leadership-related.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"ember424\">Because pay transparency will force many managers and middle managers (the main stakeholders in this) to have conversations that were previously avoided:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"ember425\">-talking about salaries, pay differences, career expectations and growth criteria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"ember426\">And that requires preparation, consistency\u2026 and a lot of communication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"ember427\">I found it especially enriching to hear such different perspectives \u2014business, unions, labor lawyers and social judiciary\u2014 because it became clear that we are facing a change that will directly impact labor relations in the coming years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"ember428\">As a personal epilogue, a simple reflection: when an organization can clearly explain how and why it rewards, it usually also conveys something very valuable: credibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"ember429\">Thanks to the various organizers and speakers for a day that I found very practical, useful and connected to the reality that many companies are already experiencing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"ember430\">#\ud835\udde5\ud835\udde5\ud835\udddb\ud835\udddb #
